Happy 2018 budget babes!!!!! I hope each and every one of you rang in the New Year doing something you love with the people you love. I know I did! Last year was the year of growing pains and getting used to a new normal in many aspects of my life. It was my first year blogging full time and it had a LOT of ups and downs. I want 2018 to be the year of experimentation–when it comes to my blog. I want to try new topics, brands, styles. I want to step so far of my comfort zone and I encourage you to do the same. The worst that can happen is I’m right back to where I started, which is this moment right now, and it’s not that bad. So to kick of the year of experimentation I want to try a different look. I’m usually in something sleek and tight, and I NEVER mix and match or try a lot of color. This year I REALLY want to dive into fashion and try new things. Well today I’m wear cobalt blue slacks and a gold sequin blazer all in one look. Yep. That’s happening.
When I got first got these pieces, I had an idea of how to wear them independently, but was like ‘nah, that’s too easy.’ But putting these two pieces together terrified me because they’re both bold AF on their own…but somehow they work. The blazer is from Deb Shops and it currently on sale for $35. There’s never a bad time to sparkle so I suggest scooping this baby up before it’s gone. I’m wearing a 3x and the fit is more casual and less structures. I could have sized down if I wanted a tighter fit, but I’m digging the slouchy feel. The only structured thing about it are the shoulder pads which I LOVE in a blazer. Since I am who I am, I had to sex it up a tad with a glitter mesh top from Forever 21. Drag me hahaha.
The blue slacks are the Kady fit Double-Weave pants from Eloquii that come in a wide variety of colors and fits. I’m wearing a size 20 in the regular fit and the quality of these pants are amazing. The fabric the smooth, durable and stretchy in all the right places. Typically these are ideal for the office, but I wanted to style them a little bit differently. This look is like the fun office party that’s not at an office and none of your coworkers are there.
Get ready for more fun looks like this one this year! I hope you guys loved this look and are inspired to switch things up this year. Here’s to fun, wild, sexy, sparkly 2018! Stay golden ❤
