Desk to Drinks ft. Tracee Ellis Ross Collection

As you may have heard the Tracee Ellis Ross collection with JCPenney dropped today and I had the opportunity to get my hands on a few pieces before today’s launch. I was sent the Glorious Elbow Sleeve Fit and Flare, Bliss Robe dress Jacket, and the Velour Drawstring Pouch. Since tomorrow is Monday and those always seem to be the toughest day of the week, I wanted to use today’s post to show you how the fit and flare dress from her collection can take you from the office to happy hour! Ayyyyyeeeee!

First and foremost  I want to give Tracee the biggest hug for including plus sizes right from the jump, which is rare to most new brands. I was also ecstatic about the price point. The most expensive piece is $74 and it’s a beautiful sequin dress! So the whole collection is super affordable and it’s not just clothes either. She has a couple fun home good items.

OKAY. Back to the outfit. I’m wearing the fit and flare dress in a size 2x which according to the size chart fits a size 20. I found it to be very true to size since I am a size 20. I have broad shoulders and the dress fit perfectly up top. There was plenty of room in the arms and well as room for movement and activities. As you all know I’m 5’10” and even in heels this dress hits right below my knee making it great if you have a office job with a more conservative dress code. The dress on it’s own paired with simple accessories is the perfect  look for the office if you want to add some color or are sick of wearing slacks and blazers.

Once 5pm hits, the real fun begins AKA happy hour! With the weather cooling down the only piece you need to take this dress to the next level is a cool leather jacket. This takes the dress form girl next door to girl next door who happens a badass. I didn’t switch up any of the accessories or change shoes because the look is supposed to be an easy transition from day to night. Also the jacket doesn’t even have to be black, I just happen to have an abundance of black leather jackets. You can do literally any color. I wanted mention that the print on the dress isn’t overwhelming. I usually stay away from bold prints, but this one is appropriate enough for the office and fun enough for after work activities.
